1995
1995 was a great year for movies. The sci fi action genre was great during this year; Virtuosity, Johnny Mnemonic, and Tank Girl! Also Mortal Kombat and Rumble in the Bronx came out this year as well. Good year for movies!

shareDamn, those were gems too. Everyone was getting on a tech wagon, and people forgot about this before the Matrix made a big deal about everything. These *beep* good movies made the mold.
LOL, JM pretty much was the Matrix Bahahahahahaa.
You forgot:
Heat
Se7en
Die Hard with a Vengeance
Species
a great year for sci fi..i think strange days should be on your list though..
Christ why did I forget Strange Days! That's one of my favorite movies too. Definitely add to the list.

Judge Dredd was great, and Batman Forever ruled only because of Jim Carrey...
shareThe 90s in general was a big decade for good movies, but '94 and '95 were HUGE.
1995 was especially good for sci-fi/cyberpunk films (aside from the ones you mentioned, it was also the year of Hackers, Strange Days, Twelve Monkeys and Ghost in the Shell) but for other genres as well (it was also the year of Toy Story, Casino, Get Shorty, The Usual Suspects, Apollo 13 and Se7en, to name but a few of the bigger ones).
1994? Don't get me started. Pulp Fiction? The Shawshank Redemption? Speed? The Crow? The list goes on.
We were spoiled back then. These days we're lucky if we get a couple of good movies a year.
There was allot of utter blockbuster dreck also. In fact 1995 was known for it lol. Showgirls anyone? But there also happens to be some of my all time favorite films from that year: Clueless, The Shawshank Redemption, Heat to name a few.
It seems there was plenty more effort put into the characters, sets, and music department back then also, even if the movies had stupid concepts. Plus i like the way action movies were directed and photographed. In the 90's they hadn't yet caught onto the blue & orange color-coding and shaky cam, so every movie looked the same like majority of them do today.
