Mara, the leader of the Children, is played by Lindsey Haun.

John Carpenter's official page www.theofficialjohncarpenter.com has a section devoted to Village of the Damned. Under this section, you can find an interview in which he praises Lindsey Haun for her professionalism.

Lindsey turns 19 on Nov 21, 2003. She is the daughter of rock guitarist Jimmy Haun (Yes, Air Supply, Lodgic, ...).

Lindsey has her own band, VITAL. They play Los Angeles area nightclubs. They have a cool website at www.vitalband.com

Haun's an alright actress, and has the whole cuteness factor thats definitely helping her

It's Mara and the skill of Lindsey Haun which makes the movie so good imo. She's chilling and never misses a beat.

Considering her age, I think she did a terrific job playing the role.
