Damn you Americans and your remakes.

Why does Hollywood feel the need when no stories are available to them (No suprise) they have the nerve to rehash superior foreign films into s hit, dumbed down versions that "fit" into the american culture and you have the inclination and the stupidity to think that they are superior to the original.

You make me sick.

I think the original is far superior, but the OP still has his head up his arse. The original was an americian movie to begin with. It was just taken over by the Brits because MGM in 1957 was afraid of the potential religious backlash of making a movie portraying evil virgin births.

Are you sick enough to die? I sure hope so. I've stumbled across a few of your posts, comments and reviews....are you as arrogant and pompous in person? There's an old saying, (much older than you)..."opinions are like a$$sholes, everyone has one".

The original is so one dimensional, I don't see how anyone could prefer it over the remake. This is one of those cases where people just say the original is better simply because it is the original. John Carpenter's version has more depth and is more thought provoking. The Scene with Alan having a debate with Mara in the farm house brings a layer to the story that the original never did. The sub plot with David is what really elevates this movie above the original, you’re not going to watch the original and talk about David as if he were a complex character like you would with the remake.

Why does EuroTrash and other inferior peoples feel the need to stop their meds in order to have their tantrum and then run away?

The original is an MGM film. Preproduction began in California, but it was delayed and MGM British Studios ended up filming it.

I am not sure why some people get so upset with remakes. You do have the choice to not see the movies.
