Can you watch this if you know the ending

is it really re-watchable

reply

I wasn't a big fan of this back in the day, although it had some strong performances, Gabriel Byrne especially. I would imagine it perhaps works just as well if you are aware of how it ends. The twist came across as silly and hard to swallow to me, but if you can accept that, you might enjoy the thing.

I think so. It's not high art, was never meant to be. I've watched it at least 10 times. It's a fun flick, even just for Benicio Del Toro.

reply

I haven't seen this in well over twenty years but I recall not being able to understand a word del Toro was saying - it was the days of VCR, with no subtitles available.

reply

Yeah that was the point. He purposely spoke like that. Good fun.

reply

Yeah, I thought it might have been... it's been a long time and my memory is hazy!

reply

Hey only one way to fix that, watch it again. Or maybe a brain transplant.

reply

I think the second option is more likely at this stage! :)

reply

Hey maybe we can go swapseys. Mines fried. Minds fried.

reply

D E A L !!!

Fried sounds so much more fun :)

reply

I'm a bit fried right now. Might be the dexemphetamines though. I don't have ADHD I just like the medication people who get prescribed it give me.

reply

haha... enjoy yourself. I'm working so strong coffee is it for me. LOL

reply

Hey man, that shit will kill ya.

reply

I had the ending spoiled for me before I saw it, but I still found it enjoyable.

reply

I've re-watched this film so many times I've lost count. Usually whenever it came on television I wouldn't flip the channel if it were on.

Even knowing the ending, it's an entertaining experience where you're constantly looking for additional clues and tidbits of information to help put the whole thing together.

reply

It's rewatchable for me.

I watched for the first time knowing that Spacey was the "bad guy". Distracted from the immersion a little bit, but was still enjoyable to watch.
