I guess by dropping at least one verifiable fact to Kujan, Verbal was able to evade his BS detectors. Never mind the subsequent scenes that he clearly made up.

Agreed that could be checked, but by the time Cujan would check on it, Kaiser knew he would be gone. So was it true?

The attack led to the corruption ring within the New York police force being exposed. Since Kujan's from New York, I can't imagine him NOT knowing about it.
