I have a hard time with the focus of this movie. I think it's a bit scattered and cluttered. I feel it would have been better executed if the viewer was truly wondering if Cole was insane or truly from the future.

Many viewers do wonder exactly that.

Can't say that I agree that it would have been better to wonder if Cole was crazy or not; but the film leaves little doubt about Cole being from the future. I simply cannot see how anyone could logically wonder about that considering what happens after he's shot and killed in the airport.
