What type of dog is Scud?

When I was a kid, he always reminded me of my rat terrier Nibbles, who died recently. (Rest in Peace Nibs)

But when I watched the movie as an adult, I noticed he is larger than a little rat terrier. Anyone know what breed he is?

Scud resembles a bull terrier, if you ask me.

According to Wikipedia, Scud is a Bull Terrier.
