Why is Rob Lowe always in these SNL-Cast movies?

Tommy Boy, Wayne's World, Austin Powers...
and he always plays a villain/bad-guy too.

TOO MUCH HAIR!! CANNOT SEE!! CANNOT SEEEEE!!!

Maybe he was doing some kind of penance for his sex-cam antics back in the '80s, playing weasels who often get a nasty comeuppance. (I'll count the Brady Bunch sequel as the same genre).
I did like his guest-hosting SNL while he was really persona non grata; we see him backstage anxiously asking Lorne if he's doing the right thing, Lorne says 'Come on, they love you! You're *Rob Lowe*!!' - then he goes on to open the show, and the audience goes stone silent on him.

Austin Powers wasn't an SNL film. As for this trash, notice how he didn't take a credit? He was wise to do that.

This movie isn't an SNL movie either, and the OP said SNL Cast meaning movies with SNL cast members as the stars so he was right to say Austin Powers. And this movie made $32 million, not bad for a mid-90s comedy, I really doubt he hates this movie or anything.

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

I'm sure he doesn't mind getting typecast as the villain. He's easy to hate cuz he's one of those guys that's too good looking to be liked. Quite the opposite with somebody like Paul Rudd. He's really good looking, but too likable to be hated.

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!

Produced by Lorne Michaels

Rob Lowe is a huge SNL nerd, and could easily be a NRFPT cast member.
