The scene when Vida goes home.....

I find this scene very heartbreaking. It's very short, but I honestly feel Vita's pain when she goes home w/ hope in her eyes- only to be rejected again by her mother.

So sad.

True.
Her mother never gives her a chance. She's really a wonderful person. And in true Vida-style, she has no bitterness towards her family. I love that.

I have to agree with you! That scene and when Vida and Chi Chi are fighting and Vida's wig comes off always chokes me up a little. 😞

reply

Yes. That moment is always dramatic no matter how many times I see this movie.

That scene where Vida's wig comes off was really painful. I *know* what Patrick Swayze looks like, but darn--seeing Vida without her hair was actually a shock! I have to admit that I've never seen this movie before (having been around since long before it came out) because I thought it would be horrible, but by the end of the movie, I really felt for all of the characters, especially Vida.
