Am I the only one?
I have loved this movie ever since I was a little girl and felt this movie was more empowering than the films with an actual female cast. Anyone else feel this way?

shareOh honey! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this film! Great cast, great energy, endless quotes and a wonderful message throughout. One of my favorites!!
shareI was re-watching it last night and actually found myself getting emotional at the end. I don't know why it took umpteen views for it to hit me, but better late than never, I guess.
sharehappened to watch it tonight (been craving it and forgotten I'd found the DVD on sale somewhere).
I love this movie, it's light, but it also says a lot about women.
I never found the comparisons between To Wong Foo and Priscilla to be fair. Priscilla is definitely a film about being gay. To Wong Foo is a film about what it is to be a woman. At least, that's how I see it.
A minor detail that bugged the hell out of me in Priscilla was the "instant" costume changes in the middle of a song. The film was going for a slightly more realistic take on an already pretty surreal topic, but then throws in a lot of production numbers with impossible costume changes.
To Wong Foo delved into its subject matter without having to insert the grand musical numbers.
I loved the movie, and miss Patrick Swayze every time I remember he's gone. But I guess he's never really gone.
