I feel like this board should be my "definitive" goodbye place.
Well imdb family, they are closing the message boards forever, and that means my VidaBoheme name and avatar will disappear. To all those that love and enjoy To Wong Foo as much as I do, please know that you are not alone. I have quoted this movie every week of my life since 1995, when I saw it at the Framingham/Natick, MA theater by myself, as a lonely, and recently out gay boy.
This movie means so much to me because it's not only fun in every sense, but it has messages about self-acceptance, finding love where you least expect it, and surrounding yourself with "force of nature" people. Plus as I said, it's endlessly quotable. And of course I am very inspired by the character of Vida. Poised, elegant, caring, and strong. I wish she was real outside of the silver screen
To those of you have conversed with me about the film, and answered my questions thoughtfully, I thank you. Love, peace, and health to you all!
