About not wanting to give up her career? Like she was so quick to use murder as an option.

Because ‘To Talk With’ doesn’t have the same ring to it, and it wouldn’t make for the most thrilling film.

Also, it would have been at total odds with the true story this movie was based on:

Agree. It's was Road Runner quick.

I can’t recall many movies where the main character transforms so quickly—from a loving wife to a murderer. He asked her, "'What do you think?" and she calmly replied, "I’ll think about it," only to start plotting his murder right away!
