Script Quote Re; Boat Drinks

I am trying desperately to find the full "Boat Drinks" quote when Jack Warden's character Joe Heff is sitting in the restaurant telling some younger kids about Jimmy the Saint and the story about him retiring with the rest of his team to the Keys on their boats having drinks. It is not in memorable quotes, which is a travesty. And I can't seem to find the script online, so if someone has this is would be great. Thanks!

The exact quote is:

"Boat Drinks. That's a common toast in prison. An ideal. Yeah, at the end of a long, bad life there you are... On a big cabin cruiser somewhere in the Florida Keys. Havin' Boat Drinks."

Greatest quote ever said...

There are a lot of musical references in this film. "Boat Drinks" is a Jimmy Buffet song; Jimmy the Saint is a character in Bruce Springsteen's "Lost in the Flood." There are a bunch of others, but I haven't seen it in a while, so I can't say what they are.

I second that.
I will not underestimate the effect movies have on some of us...

I cribb'd the quote for my own use-"pool burgers" I spent a week in Maui,West Side to be exact (Kaanapali Shores), and I had the best burger ever (2nd to Kua Aina, North Shore Oahu) and washed down that with the most exquisite lemonade slushy I have ever had-made in a small thatched hut, pool side.

At that "perfect storm" moment of food, intimate, secluded location, and weather coming together, I will admit that this movie came to my mind. I had seen it, I had purchased it.

But when I thought about the phrase "boat drinks" I got a chill up my spine and I thought about some folks I miss...

"Pool burgers. Its a common toast amongst orphans. One day, we will meet up with our parents alongside a pool in paradise-having Pool Burgers, and catchin' up..."

BD's and PB's to all...

"Pool Burgers"! I love it.

That is awesome. Damn, I could really use a good burger right now. They just don't make 'em the way they used to.

Hell yeah, when I go out tonight, I'm gonna toast people with "boat drinks" and "pool burgers"!

Love the Boat Drinks quote, and loved Jack Warden's role, the Greek chorus if you will, on the fringe of the frame, explaining the goings-on. I've always been a huge fan of Warden. His performances always seemed so authentic. You knew a regular guy like him somewhere, or you wanted to be at the table in the malt shop listening to him tell you stories about how things used to be.
