Stupid Business

I am the only one who found Jimmy's video business simply ludicrous? I mean, they record the dying before they die and then the surviving kin goes to the place to watch the tapes. Well, why wouldn't the families just buy a film camera and record the stuff so they can watch any time they want at their own home.

I think that the point was that they asked the dying person a certain ammount of questions and advice which are then referenceable by the surviving family. A bit like Superman with his crystals.

I thought it was actually a good idea. Reminded me of My Life with Michael Keaton, he knew he was going to die while his wife was pregnant, knowing he wouldn't be there for when the child would grow up and did videos for both a boy and a girl.

I can understand what you mean though, but at the same time, there are problems with DIY. Burglary, could get stolen or damaged. House fire (my friends house burned down, so it is possible) it getting taped over or erased. So at least with his business, they know it'll always be there. The only problem with the business would be the theft of the video equipment. They could also offer, for an extra fee, a copy of the video while the business keeps the original, that way if there is a problem with the copy, they know the original still exists and aren't at a complete loss
