Alternate Ending

Has anyone seen the alternate ending? I submitted the information to the imdb.com a couple of days ago but they still haven't put it up. It's real and for you non-believers here's a link: http://www.migrantfilmworker.com/films/talesfromthecrypt/fire.html

It doesn't really tell much besides the fact that Jeryline is swallowed by flames that resemble the collector. The scene was cut at a late test screening. This just proves how much the Universal doesn't care about the DVD's. The movie's not that old and I'm sure they could've at least put the footage in as an extra feature...but no! All we get is a lame re-issue with a damn trailer (Which features a deleted scene of the Cryptkeeper firing an Uzi in a jail cell) and recommendations. Here's to next time...

This isn't an alternate ending but I just thought it would make moe sense if the final scene showed the Collector die by swallowing the blood, instead of having it spat on his face. Recall that the Crypt-keeper was stating (possibly joking) that he loved her. So she could have pretended to move in for a kiss and then -- the collector would have swallowed it. Earlier, the collector felt the blood from the outside and felt pain but no serious damage. So this final scene didn't make sense to me.

He was afraid to touch the key while the blood was still inside it. It caused him considerable pain. I have no problem believing that when the blood actually touched him it would kill him if touching the container it was in caused unbearable pain.

I always figured he died because she spat blood into his eyes. He said earlier that destorying the eyes only worked on 'low level demons, but since the blood was from a demon knight, it was far more powerful.

Great movie and Billy Zane is comedic genius but If all it took was pouring blood on the Collecter why didn't Brayker just do that in the first place.

That's a good question. Maybe he felt he wasn't the right one to do it and that Jerylin was. That's why he chose her.

It didn't stop the forces of darkness for long I suppose. They sent another collecter soon enough.

exactly, coming back to this movie, (I often check out older horror films near Halloween). It just makes no sense that the blood alone can kill him. Collectors are absolutely no threat then. Put some blood in a squirt-gun and fire away.

It would have made way, way more sense if Geraldine moved in with a suggestive look, went up to him to kiss him and then just spit the blood down his mouth - like a Vampire swallowing holy water.

How much holy water? Will the result depend on the amount ingested?

What if he took a sip, versus a swig? How about a gulp..? An cup..? An entire pint or a quart? Ouch..
