Was the identity of the killer supposed to be so obvious?

..because it was. I thought it was him since early on in the film and hoped it would be a red herring, but it never paid off. Alternatively, it could've been deliberately heavily hinted to the viewer in order to create extra tension, watching the character struggle to realize what we already know.. but I was left with the feeling that that's not the case.
Incredibly disappointing reveal, if you can call it that.
Wow, Bob, Wow.

The reveal is predictable, but it's never tainted my opinion about the movie being f***** awesome, because it's the conceptual approach in Strange Days that I think is great.
I think the cliche ending is intentional as the the film is more concerned with using genre to make a statement (voyeurism, media, addictions, racial politics etc...more relevant now than ever) while being chock full of nods to classic film noir, detective thrillers and cyberpunk fiction, which is neat.
