Well said, Alix. That scene is one of the most romantic in this beautiful movie.
Very true and Colonel Brandon was such a great man, not only did he wholeheartedly love Marianne and waited patiently for her, he was also a very kind, caring and compassionate person overall who cared about the people around him, he was a real gentleman too and did not care about money or social class.
While selfish Willoughby mainly just cared about himself and wealth.
Agree. Teen girls should be made to watch this movie on a loop and have Colonel Brandon implanted in their long-term memories so they can judge future suitors next to him. They all want Willoughbys though. Colonel Brandon is the quintessential good and decent man.
