Those screamers that attacked at the start of this film remind me little of those DRDs (Diagnostic Repair Drones) that maintain the space craft MOYA from the "FARSCAPE' sci/fi series.
Of course, the DRD's are half as nasty.
I just think it might be another way of looking how it all figures out.
