Wasted its most interesting idea? (SPOILER)


That the Screamers are becoming so human-like they're fighting each other and developing what appear to be feelings beyond just ones related to hostility?

But they are more cunning, as well, because the screamer from the NEB base shot the David Screamer before our 'heroes' realized there were new screamer models. So, was it to serve the purpose of not giving away the fact that the two screamers in the NEB base weren't human and wouldn't react to them? Hmm...

The concept worked better as Philip K. Dick's short story. The narrative was never designed to stretch it out to 2 hours.

The machines attacking each other doesn't indicate they have human emotions. A machine without emotions won't care about destroying another machine anymore than it would killing a person.

Jessica 1 certainly seemed to have developed human emotions. The OP has a point, whereby there is never any real explanation given as to how and why, she appears to have permanently turned against her type.🐭

She fancied Hendricksson; it's usually a good reason for women to fight each other. On the other hand it was quite a clever way to divert his attention when the escape ship was warming up.
