Concerns about Viz' upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release

Viz is releasing the first half of the original season on three DVDs and three Blu-rays. At 23 episodes, that's gonna work out to 8, 8, and 7 episodes on a disc.

I have the "Saved by the Bell" DVD sets. On disc 1, they put 8 episodes. It's a dual-layer disc, and the episodes look compressed. It's pretty bad.

The Sailor Moon episodes run longer, and there will be two audio tracks (possibly lossless on the Blu-rays?). I'm concerned that both the DVDs and Blu-rays are gonna look bad.

If the episodes are under half an hour 8 episodes should fit on one Double Layer Disc without any problem.

Saved by the Bell must have just been released very cheaply.

I'm frankly sick of getting half hour shows that sometimes never put more then 3 episodes on 1 disc, just because they can charge more the more discs there are.

Lol, don't worry about that. The dual layer discs for the DVDs is just fine, with eight 22-minute episodes. The Blu-ray will look great, trust me, Viz knows what they're doing.

As for SBTB, you know why the video looks so terrible? Because it came from a bad source (most likely video and not film). I have the DVDs too, they also didn't bother doing any remastering for that release.
