I Gotta Laugh...

At how funny they are about their "secret identities" and how no one ever figures out who they are (unless it's through something happening to make them reveal it like having to transform in front of someone or an enemy finding out). It's not like they wear masks or even have different hairdos. Between Usagi's very odd hair style, the constant red bow that Minako wears, Ami's BLUE hair, and the fact that there are 5 guardians, and then 5 girls who look exactly like them are always being seen together....lol. Even worse really than Clark Kent and his glasses hiding that he's Superman, at least he actually makes some effort (now matter how small) to look different than his alter-ego. At least the live action addressed this by having them look totally different in their human forms (although it is probably more because japanese girls don't typically have blue or long bleach blond hair, but I like to think it's because they wanted to make it a little more believable lol). I know, I know, it's just a cartoon show, I still love it but even as a kid my friends and I would laugh about it.

I bet the tiaras emit some kind of magic energy that prevents people from registering their faces or being able to connect them to their civilian personas (that would be the in universe explanation). I don't really fault the general populace not figuring it out since Tokyo is such a populated place it's easy to go unnoticed and when ever the are fighting in a public crowed place, the enemy has usually drained all possible witnesses of their energy. The people also seem to have no interest in finding out who the scouts are or even investigating all of the crazy monster attacks going on anyway. I guess their memories get wiped after every attack.

What really kills me is how the scouts can't figure out someone's identity. I never got, even as a kid how NONE of them could guess that Usagi was the Moon Princess. Like Mamoru couldn't figure it out that the princess in his dreams has the SAME EXACT hairdo as Usagi and Sailor MOON. Also why have Luna remember that she has a mission to find the Moon Princess, has all of the transformation pins and weapons available, but she can't remember what the princess looks like or that all of the senshi are princesses of their respective planets? I get Usagi and the other Senshi not knowing, but Luna and Artemis should have known and just not told them for her protection or whatever. It was also obvious Chibiusa was somehow related to Usagi and probably her daughter. And they should have recognized Haruka and Michiru as Uranus and Neptune too. Or how they never saw through their enemies lame disguises. Man, they really dumbed them down to make a lot of these plots work in the anime.

No they didn't, all of that was perfectly explained in the anime, Mamoru always saw a shadowy figure in his dreams, Luna and Artemis didn't have all their memories, and how would they know Chibi Usa was from the future?
