This always bugged me when I watched the show, because I'd read online how her parents were killed in a plane crash and on one fan site there was supposed to be an audio clip of her mentioning it, but it never worked for me, but nowhere in the whole show when it was on Toonami did they ever mention it in any episode. So where exactly WAS it mentioned?

That never made any sense either, because she's 14, her parents are dead, she lives alone? How does she pay for everything? But, maybe this is just me, I don't know that I ever actually bought her as being only 14, the other girls seem obviously 14, she just seemed so much older, maybe though because she WAS on her own and had to do everything herself.

It wasn't made specific in anime but more in the Manga that she came from a wealthy family and was able to survive on her own due to a large inheritance.
