The Nostalgia critic review
It was very funny (the Darth Vader, Transformers and The Return of the Jedi joke)...But, honestly, it had little to do with Sailor Moon.
I was actually annoyed by how uninformed he was (the Sailor V remark - I mean, was that suppose to be intentionally stupid for comedy sake?), and would constantly correct him. I get the impression that he only saw the first season. And the English dub only. And not even the end of the first season.
I can't believe he didn't even mention the dramatic-epic finale...I can't believe he didn't even mention a single great joke from the anime...I can't believe he didn't even mention a single emotional moment...I can't believe he didn't even mention a single greatest quote from the first season ("I want to die in beauty")...And I can't believe he didn't even mention the humanization of the villain, something unheard of for you run-of-the-mill super-hero stories (in first season alone we had Nephrite sacrifising himself because he felt emotion for Naru, his enemy).
I know Doug is just relaxing and entertaining his audience, as always. But I still have to say, I guess we agree to disagree. He just took the story at the superficial level, without acknowledging deeper layers within it.
