DIC version was best!

I'm going to get crucified for this, but it was better overall. I prefer the American names, memorable voice actors, better American score, Zoisite worked better as a female, and there was more comedy.

I mean yeah it sucks some episodes were skipped over and they censored stuff here and there (I would've kept the footage intact myself), but this was geared towards kids and you can't have that by showing panty shots, people literally getting stabbed in the back along with kill, death, and Hell being talked about.

The first take of the US version of Sailor Moon had this charm and magic to it that its original Japanese version doesn't have.

Looking back on it, one thing I didn't like were the tiara / evil orb scene transitions. I thought it was cool at the time only to find out that that was a US addition. Show worked better without those.

I didn't mind the DIC dub. I liked it in spite of what the detractors said.

Can't handle death. So um, can you explain WHY we saw the villains die but the senshi were 'kidnaped'? Can't buy that. 🤔

Aside from the censorship and the cut episodes I kinda agree. The Japanese soundtrack doesn't suit the show that much I mean a lot of the music sounds like hold or elevator music its really weird. Dic improved the show in that aspect by giving it a more intense and saturday morning cartoon sound. The Japanese voice acting is great but I don't like the new dub voices much at all the acting is really inferior to the old voices. Yes people can complain about the silly dialogue but if they say the voice acting was not as good they have no idea what they are talking about.

I prefer the original dub series. I don't care about the extra scenes, or whether this new dub is more true to the original Japanese show. I want to see the show I grew up with. Call it nostalgia... call it whatever you want, I don't care. I don't like this new dub. I don't like the music. I don't like the opening theme song. I don't like Sailor Moon's voice. I don't like the transformation music... you get the point.

If anyone knows where I can find the original dub series, please let me know! :(

Recently I have revisited Sailor Moon Crystal because I hadn't finished the Dark Knigdom arc when it was first streaming i and wanted to hear how the dub was so I purchased the regular Dvd sets and honestly the Viz dub is perfectly good which to me is odd because the voice acting for the classic series sounds so off? Did they just let loose more because there was less pressure was there a different director or had they just settled into the roles better by now?. I mean I guess to me it does make sense that the casting is better suited for Crystal in some regards like Christina Vee has a better voice for Crystal Rei than Classic Rei Christina Vee has a more mature and elegant voice that does not work well for classic Rei who is quite immature and boy crazy most of the time. Any on with me here?
