REmember when max bergman (tv a-hole talkshow host) threw rumpelstiltskin and he landed in the river and it said 3 years later a mother with a baby and 2 kids were by that river and the kids found rumpelstiltskin's rock and wanted to keep it.
The sequel never happened. in rumpelstiltskin 2 they may not have shelly, baby john and max, but the kids, baby and mother by the river. they probably would have had one of the kids make a tearful wish and rumpelstiltskin would go after the baby, like the first.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE SO MUCh. AS a tradition, The night before my big shopping trip during Christmas break (which happens a few days after X-mas) I would watch the movie.
The villagers chasing Rumpelstiltskin in the beginning was like frankinstein, dressed in rags, yelling while running, carrying torches.
It was neat when Rumpelstiltskin rippeed the villager (with the beard's) Eye out, and they eye was moving and he ate the eye.
They even had Rumpelstiltskin as shelly's husband Russell and when they were "Doing it" they had nightmare on Elm st music, I think.
Rumpelstiltskin drove a motorcycle and a truck, and he even caught up with them.
With all the Versus-themed sequals these days, they should have it like that Rumpy would take on Leprechaun, also created by Mark Jones. HJowever, Lep would win, because Lep has magic and Rumpy is all brute strength. No contest.

I don't know/remember if that is the exact A Nightmare On Elm Street music, probably not, but the same guy who did the music for the first Elm Street movie, Charles Bernstein, did the music for Rumpelstiltskin as well. So the music may just sound similar because of that fact. Also on a side note, the same guy who did the make up for NOES 2-4, Kevin Yagher, also did the make-up for Rumpelstiltskin.
Anyways, i think theoretically it'd really just be a toss up for the winner of the Leprechaun vs Rumpelstiltskin. They both have their strength & weakness, and i don't really see a clear cut winner. I'd definitely like to see a "Leprechaun vs Rumpelstiltskin" movie, and like both, so it wouldn't matter to me who won the battle, but id assume the Leprechaun would win since he's the more popular and well known of the two. But you never know though...
Maybe Mark Jones can try to get a versus movie between the Leprechaun & Rumpelstiltskin made one of these days. You know id see it! And id like to see a second Rumpelstiltskin movie as well.

I dont think that would ever happen, but it would be pretty cool though. I like to konow how many people the idea of Leprechaun vs Rumplestiltskin appeals to. Surely, if theres enough demand for it, the producers will make it happen, it just may take a while, Freddy vs Jason took them nearly 10 years to get right, but in the end, it was the best it could have been. I just hope they let Leprechaun win beacuse Rumplestilskin scared the HELL outa me we I was in grade 11 at school and I havn't been back for a second helping yet. One of these days. Lep 2 was the best of all of them.
Actually, the plan for Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives was at one point to have Freddy and Jason battle. And that particular F13 was released in 1986 and FvJ was released in 2003, so we had to wait more than 10 years for Freddy vs Jason... 17 years is more precise. Even though, most people do seem to think that the first hint at a "Freddy vs Jason" movie was in Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday at the end when Freddy's hand comes out of the ground and pulls Jason's hockey mask under. So i guess to most people it probably was 10 years since JGTH was released in 1993 and they didn't know about the whole plan to possibly do it with F13 Part VI...
you are right it did sound like nightmare on elm st music when shelly and rumpelstiltskin disgused as shelly's husband were doing it. I noticed it too. I still wish they had a 2nd movie.
Have you noticed how this copys The Terminator a bit lol I mean riding a motorcyle with shades, killing cops in a police station and last but not least chasing his victim in a truck! lol
I am also a Rumpelstiltskin fan, I remember watching this as a kid and was blown away my first thought was it reminded me of leprechaun and reading this I learned that both was made by Jones, I didn't know that, that's awesome but makes since, I thought it was equally as good as leprechaun and that has 6 sequels why not Rumpy, I love these early 90's horror films maybe its because its what I grew up loving but there's something that I keep watching. There simply classics and I thought I was the only one but I guess not, I am glad!
