Why did Killearn care about the money?

I'm wondering why he was so interested in helping Archie steal it, since he didn't really profit from it himself.

reply

He was a devious b***tard and cared only for the trouble it would cause. He enjoyed playing off one against the other.

That, and I expect he also thought it might be advantageous to ingratiate himself with Archie.

Lazy + smart = efficient.

Yeah, that makes sense. He certainly did seem to enjoy being an observer to Archie's antics.

He even kept Archie's rapist activities secret. Yet he also dropped Archie 'in it' with Montrose, by grassing him up about his lavish costume expenses (his tailor)?

I think Killearn cared more about trading in the currency of 'information' when it would suit him down the road. He may not have needed the money right then...but he could use the info down the road for blackmail when he needed something.

Killearn was a devious bastard, but he also knew how to play the game to his advantage.

There was dialogue indicating that he did it to get favor with Cunningham, it went something like:

Cunningham: "You have no place to be calling me in the familiar!! [When he called him Archie"]

What's-his-face: "Perhaps I could earn myself that privilege.." Then he proposes stealing the money.

A rat and a viper, making "friends"!!!

reply

I agree with everything that's been said, but was it categorically indicated that they didn't split the proceeds?🐭
