Is it fair to blame Disney?

Salva's dark past didn't become known until the boy he molested came forward when this film was released.

I don't think it's fair to blame Disney. They said they had no idea of his dark past, until they were tipped off about it about half-way through filming. Plus, they never hired Salva again after that.

My only question is, why didn't it become common knowledge sooner? Why wasn't it all over the news back in 1988? Salva was hardly a rich and powerful man with the power to silence anyone when he molested that boy. Maybe then, Disney wouldn't have hired him.

Salva fed them a lie that it was a one time incident with a 17-year-old. I think some people who have worked with him still actually believe this.

Something tells me Disney lied about not knowing about it if it was reported before Powder. They probably just felt it wasn't an issue because there were no minors on set which is sick thinking. It's even more sick that this guy only served 15 months and is still a working director. Anyone who works with him ought to get fixed. It doesn't matter if what he did happened in the '80s. It still happened.
