I don't think that the monkey dies, the antibodies in her blood were just used to manufacture antiserums.
shareYep, if I remember my virology from college, although they could make the antiserum with a dead animal, the idea would be to keep Marcel alive here so her (his) body can keep producing antibodies.
shareBetsy would love to know that her monkey buddy is going to spend the rest of it's existence in a cage being a blood factory, then eventually will be incinerated to molecules. How adorable!
