i'm 100% AGAINST them remaking this one, but IF they were to...

Who out of this new generation would you cast in this film? I'm not familiar with any new or young actors, so I'm just curious who all of you would choose...

(WITH ALL DUE RESPECT to Christina, Gaby, Ashleigh and Thora.)

It would be silly to remake this because we are in 2012. This was shot in 1995 so the girls thinking back on their childhoods around 20 years ago puts them correctly in the late 60/early 70's which is the timeframe that made the movie with the music, trends, housing development that the Gas light was like, etc, etc. Now, it would be with the girls in the mid to late eighties and would just lose all the charm.

And movies are never set in a different time period ever!!! Btw, 1995 minus 20 =/= late 60s...

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

reply

My mom graduated in 76, she's 55... Not mid 80s lol

Unless you're talking about it being in the generation of the 80s?

Everyone uses the 50-70s but what about the 80s?

And they can also bring back Thora Birch, Cristina Ricci, and Gaby Hoffmann. This time, portraying the grown-up characters since they're now in their early 30s. RIP Ashleigh Aston Moore.

reply

Christina Ricci might be up for the idea, I don't know about the other two. They don't have the consistency to backtrack like nothing. I think they'd rather try to reestablish themselves.

reply

I think Gaby Hoffmann is probably the most successful of the bunch now. She's re-established herself well. Two Emmy nominations in one year.

reply

It's pretty awesome that Christina Ricci and Gaby Hoffmann were both nominated for a SAG Award this year. Didn't even realize it til now.

reply

I think Gaby is great but man everytime I see her now she looks like a bag lady. I just want to come at her with a pair of tweezers too.
