so how much does an apartment rent cost?
shareWhich is another huge flaw in this movie: unless one of them had inherited money there is no way they could live that lifestyle.
A dance teacher gets paid about 38k on average, and the average therapist salary is 39k a year (in todays money). Neither impressive; in fact both below the average income, and both before taxes of course, and assuming full time work (or enough clients). Even if they both pulled in 70k together, after taxes, that's pushing it for the supposed upper middle life they are living (that starts at 100k a year).
Might as well had two grade school teachers having country club memberships, driving Porches, eating insanely expensive food and going to fancy restaurants and living in an expensive flat...all in an expensive city to live in.
The apartment is for sale right now. It's the same that was used as Irene's apartment in "Dark Passage" with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall (as Irene).
If you want to find out more, check out Reel SF. That's where I found out last week that the apartment is now available. There's even a short video clip in the realty website.
