Why does Governor go through speech?

After the conversation with her husband, the Governor is obviously convinced that what Depp told her was accurate (that they wouldn't let her cancel the speech, that her assistant was murdered, and that she was going to be assassinated), so why did she go through with the speech? This makes no sense to me.

She wasn't 100% convinced and was probably giving her husband the benefit of the doubt. Didn't you catch the expression on her face when he thought she was dead and confessed to the whole thing?

I'll have to rewatch it to properly respond, but I just remember it seeming quite clear to me that she WAS convinced. I guess I chocked up her reaction at the end to just being horrified at hearing the words come out of his mouth.
