Missing Scene?

Boy am I puzzled! I recorded this movie from the USA network, and it had an almost final scene where Watson talks briefly to the Governor, his daughter gives the shoeshine guy a kiss, Watson says he lost his watch, and he and Lynn leave.

I just bought the DVD and that whole scene is missing! Does anyone know why? I understand when TV deletes scenes to fit in commercials, but I've never before seen a TV airing to have *more* than the DVD!

I taped it from Pay Per View WAY back when it was just out on PPV. My version does not have the scene you describe.

I was puzzled about the movie "Little Darlings", from 1980. There are a couple of whole scenes in the TV version that are not in the theater version. I don't recall if they deleted any scenes, but I know they added. I'm not sure why TV stations do that, but they definitely do it.

But, but ... the material has to have been filmed by the moviemakers. How come the TV channels get it when the DVD or theater release don't? I'm really baffled. If it was cut by the moviemakers, why would they let a TV station have it? And if they decided they wanted it back in, why would they *not* include it on the DVD?

>This little bit of artistic editing was simply lifted from the opening scene, where the alien-infected dog races from the Norwegian to the American camp. The TV editor must have been high on something the day he pulled this bit of film trickery.

>But who will guard the guards?

Oh my word. Wouldn't somebody sue? Surely that's an unauthorized tampering with someone's intellectual property. And in a commercial venue.

I remember seeing that scene too on tv. It didn't really add to the film so I wasn't bummed about it not being in the official movie. I saw this same phenomenon when Goonies was shown on tv. There was this whole scene with Chunk and some octopus-type creature, but in the official movie that scene is not there. Maybe they are semi-deleted scenes that are only good enough to be shown on regular tv?

Yikes!! Almost 14 months later, but I finally have seen the ending the first person mentioned. I like it better than the abrupt ending of the theatrical / PayPerView / DVD version.

The one thing I noticed about this USA version that I watched tonight is that the dubbing of the foul words was the best I've seen done. No complaints on that. Usually it's easy to tell the voices apart, and it's obvious. But, in this case, it's only a word at a time and done nicely.

Finally, I thought I was going crazy regarding the scenes which were taken out. I was shocked to see this uncut movie version on USA. I called Paramount Studios asking them if I could purchase the "uncut version" and they had no clue as to what I was talking about. Has anyone purchased the DVD with these scenes? If so, where can I purchase this DVD?
Thanks so much!

Neither have I...
