This is an underrated film...
I remember having this movie when it first came out and me and my brothers would watch it alot. The actor sharron corley is a good actor also and I think he should have gotten more work..

Before I saw this movie, everyone told me it was corny and don't waste my time...there was another movie out around the same time called "Fresh" that everybody said was much better...I rented them both and I absolutely loved New Jersey Drive! This movie had a great story, great acting and great sdtk! It was very realistic in what it showed; being from the general area it was well known that New Jersey was the "car theft" capital during this time. I think ppl were expecting a bunch of drug dealing and shooting because of the other films that were out like New Jack City, Boyz N The Hood and when they didn't get that, they just labeled the movie corny without seeing it for what it was. I can watch this movie over and over because it was so REAL...real ppl dealing with real situations!
The other movie Fresh (that everybody was so pumped about) turned out to be a dud, IMO. I didn't like it at all and I thought the acting was bad from everyone involved.

yeah, that's what it was. New Jersey Drive wasn't one of those hour and a half of dudes pulling guns every 5 minutes. basically it was too realistic, it didn't portray a super thug just so some dudes can watch it, imitate it, and think they are hard. so basically the same people who love Tupac for giving them the idea to get thug life tattooed on their stomach instead of for the quality of his music are the same people that put this movie down. Those people are morons.
