Some of the best makeup I've ever seen. Amazing how they made Dreyfuss look so much younger than he was. Looked so realistic.

Agreed. When I first saw it I thought it was a film from earlier in his career.
Now they seem to be able to do that kind of effect with computers.
Well, at the time he was going prematurely bald and had white hair, so he already looked a little bit like the older Mr. Holland.

I agree with the great make-up comment. I was sure when we got home and I had a chance to look up the information on IMDb that I'd see that it won an Oscar for make-up that year.
But no. 😢
I'd have voted for it. I thought the appearance of aging in many characters was GREAT.
