When Chris Cooper is is talking to Jennifer Lopez, he is saying: "remember me?". Why does he do that, have they met before?

shareyeah thats right, i didnt realize that.. he mustve remembered her and thats why he caused the distraction for the other t.a. cops. He knew she was a cop from the first time she chased him.

If Grace had an encounter with The Torch once before, why would she volunteer to go undercover in the booth, knowing that it is The Torch who they are trying to catch in the first place? Did the cops think he wouldn't recognise her? Surely she would've thought that.
Either the cops were really stupid, or the scriptwriters were.
