spoiler - Swann might not actually be dead.

I didnt catch this the first time around, but when i watched the movie the other day i caught something interesting. Okay, we have the scene where Swann body has the flesh removed, and then it goes to a scene where Bakula and Jamsen are walking away and she says that Swann always told here something to this extent - flesh is a prision for the soul/body? magic will set you free. Right after this theres a scene where they show a close up of swanns body in its skeletal form.

I mean it could be just a metaphor, but when you think about the sequence of these events, it kinda suggests that Swann is alive in some from or another, maybe he reached some true level of magical enlightenment that Nix couldnt.

I think back when this movie was made, they left it opened ended in case there would never be a sequel. Sadly it never happened. Swann's words to his wife were "Flesh is a trap and magic sets us free." I think it was meant to make you think Swann was still alive and left a door open for another movie.

But since it ended with Lord Of Illusions, I would say it just shows that Swann is finally free out and out of his misery.

It's not outside of the realm of possibility.

Both Swan AND Nix could very well still be "alive" (existing) in some sense...

Barker explored this theme with both his antagonist and protagonist in "The Great and Secret Show"... A book I believe shares some similarities with this movie....

While they could always be resurrected in some way, I don't really think Swann or Nix would have returned had a sequel been made. The is one advenure of Harry D'Amour and had a sequel taken place, we'd have seen Harry on another big case unrelated to this. In fact, I wouldn't want anyone from this story to return other than Dorthea, as it would make the Lord of Illusions series all about Nix rather than all about Harry. In a sense, Harry is a lot like Kolchak The Nightstalker...always drawn to the evil in the world. This is his stories, not Swann's or Nix's.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I have to agree there. The case in Lord of Illusions is closed when S'Amour leaves and both Swann and Nix are presumed dead. I'd love to see another movie set in this universe, featuring D'Amour but it would have to be an entirely new case, otherwise you'd just be rehashing what's come before and already been neatly resolved.

Granted there are possibilities that suggest either Swann or Nix may not be dead, but the story is about dark occult magic hiding behind the ordinary everyday world that we take for granted. With that kind of setting you have to figure on their being questions that go unanswered.
