Cast?

I think this movie would have done better if it had a different cast. Bakula always looked as though he was waiting for a punchline. And, the guy from the Mummy movies has always bugged me. Just thought he looked too goofy to be sinister. Even, the Guy as NIX stunk. Just seen him in too many supporting roles, I guess. Anyone else?
If so, who would you have cast?
ME:
Phillip Swann - Tim Curry
Harry D'Amour - Mandy Patinkin
Nix - Kurtwood Smith, Michael Ironside( Nix was bald in the book), James Caan

O'Connor was too goofy to be sinister, and you suggest Tim Curry? Bakula looked like he was waiting for a punchline, and you suggest Mandy Patinkin? You'd seen Daniel von Bargen in too many supporting roles, and you suggest Kurtwood Smith?! Kurtwood Smith?!!!!

I thought the casting was perfect! Even Clive Barker thought Scott Bakula was the Harry he envisioned. Also I thought the actors who played both Swann and Nix were dead on!

I thought the cast was perfect. Clive Barker always does a great job casting people in his movies since he's able to seek out his vision he wrote in his stories. I thought O'Connor was perfect was Swann. Not your typical leading man, but very striking. Scott Bakula I think did a good job too, but yeah maybe I would of had someone different play the part. Still I think the leads were casted perfectly.

Brigulon,

I don't know if you've read the source story on which this film is based but Nix never appears in the story and there is no character named Nix.

Swann got his power from a deal-with-the-devil type of bargain and this becomes the base of the plot. He didn't get his powers from Nix, there was no commune or magic castle or anything of the like. The only characters in the story were Swann, Dorothea, Valentin and D'Amour and takes place in an apartment building in New York.
