a very underrated film and boy did it "have heart" in droves. I mean it's got adventure, great locations, exotic locations, a woman at the center of it that for me anyways, just was stunningly beautiful with those green eyes, a charming to say the very least little girl, Ian holm, when he realized on the bus ride back that he was getting his village back, he did such a good job at being so emotional about it. the funny drunk at the bar, even the young guy who assited ted danson's character was very good, it has mystery, and above all a great romance in it. what's not to like? yes it was a bit cheesy and over the top everything turns out perfect in the end so I guess that is just too much for us jaded people in today's age who want non stop violence, car crashes, and sex. (I thought it was cool that when they finally slept together, then didn't just have to show her on top whipping her hair about or something like that, it was just well, he stroked her hair, she smiled and you knew what was going to happen, we don't always have to SEE it) They should take a lesson from this and do this more in movies today, imply sex, imply violence, you don't have to show everything in detail
Ok I can see overall i'ts not a 3 star film for what a film critic would look for, he'd give it a 2, but for me,it's a 3 out of 4
