If Caruso was Norton....
If you put Ed Norton in Caruso's role this is one of the best crime movies all time. It's not even close...
Caruso is so terrible in this movie it makes me sad for him. Never not once did I believe him in this. When he's telling the drunk in the truck to "Shut up!" I find it hard not to giggle. When he takes the punch from Sam Jackson in the alley I pray he changes his mind and cuts loose on him JUST so I can see Caruso get hit more.
Which is a TOTAL waste of Cage's performance which is AMAZING!! Hands down Cages best work. Period. There is never a moment in which I DON'T feel as if Lil jr is a insane musclebound reckless nutbar!! Who might have a lil bit of a daddie complex??
Sam Jackson is Sam Jackson and will always be solid. Tucci played the a**hole cop great as well. Hell even Helen Hunt was good in this. I felt her as the struggling to keep it all together mother and wife from the start. And I HATE Hellen Hunt..
Caruso ruined this film... And it wasn't his performace. It's him. HE's terrible. I have to wonder what kind of money his family comes from and whom they've paid off to get him into Hollywood. The other actors in this should hunt him down and beat his a** for robbing them of the chance to be in what could have been one of the most iconic films of this period.
Put Ed Norton in this role. Goodfella's, Res Dogs, Heat all go down a few pegs. Tell me I'm wrong. Don't just tell me I'm wrong either. Convince me, I'm open to hearing other points of view.
"You shoot me in the face and I'll kick your ass!!"
