and it caused quite a stir when he took it. I have a feeling the average moviegoer didn't want to see him as a bad guy (except me as this character obviously had him written all over it) and as I remember the critics didn't take to the film either, most likely due to the fact that new age style gritty crime drama didn't come into mainstream appeal until several years later. That was a true shame because us "20-something people" to quote another message boarder now consider these kind of films the most enjoyable to watch. We like bad guys, we like crime. The current mass fascination with "The Sopranos" proves it. This is a new generation of movies for the new generation to love.
