Location Trivia

This movie was filmed in LaBelle, Miami, Everglades City and Fort Myers, Florida. When they show the town of Ochopee, FL, it is actually Fort Myers. Ochopee is a hole in the road with the nations smallest post office. The spooky house that they use is in LaBelle. The swamp scene is at Babcock Wilderness Ranch. Then, because they filmed in the summer, Connery couldn't handle the heat and mosquitos. So they finished filming in a warehouse in Miami.

Yup, my husbands old dorm room window is visible near the beginning, to the left of the arched walkway. Also the debate scene is held where he played with the orchestra. He always, in that lovingly infuriating way, points these out and says "In used to play string bass on that stage."

*not technically trivia* but I live on McGregor Boulevard. the Patio De Leon sign is in downtown Fort Myers, thats like 5 miles max from my house. Also the address is 33,not 2222. I went to the house, the house where the parents died. Well outside anyway,it has been remodeled from the looks of it,I could be wrong.

The scenes in the Sheriff's house were filmed in Naples, FL, one block over from where I grew up. You can hear my dog barking in the background :)

The scene at the school and the exteriors when Armstrong and Brown are driving around tracing Bobby Earls' route are Everglades City. I grew up down there, and it looks pretty nuch the same now as it did 35 years ago.
