I saw it coming
When Sean Connery met with Blair in prison, I had a feeling he was in on it with Bobby Earl. I did suspect the sheriff at one point, but only because I wasn't paying explicit attention. I don't think we were supposed to suspect him. I'm too good at guessing plot twists for my own good.
