All of you bums who say he was in the wrong getting the confession are misguided fools. He knew he was the killer & did everything he had to do to get him put away. Good for him! If people just left it at that, lives would've been saved (im aware that there would not be a movie, but thats besides the point).

Sure pal, until you get busted for something you didn't do because some cop just "knows" you're the one who did it. How old are you, 12? Take a trip through the criminal "justice" system and you'll learn something.
shareThis reminds me of Orson Wells cop character in "Touch of Evil". One of the key points in the movie is when Charlton Heston's character Mike Vargas catches Orson Wells planting dynamite as evidence to frame a guy he knows committed a car bombing. The cop was correct, but he had no proof, so he planted evidence to get a conviction on a guy he knew was guilty.
