Van Pelt
Judging by the Pith helmet and the clothes he was wearing, I assume he was a hunter from either the 20th or 19th century?

British explorer type, 19th century due to the gun store owner saying they stopped making his ammunition back in 1903.
shareI never realised Van Pelt was the same actor as the Parish dad. Nice detail.
shareI never realised Van Pelt was the same actor as the Parish dad. Nice detail.I think it is intended as a tribute to Peter Pan, traditionally Hook and Mr Darling are played by the same person.
It's absolutely the game *beep* with Alan. Imagine being hunted in the jungle with a man who sounds *exactly* like your father. ('a man from the darkest wild.. makes you feel just like a child')
But on another level.. yea, probably was a tribute of some sort
Or the workers on Dorothys farm and the citizens of oz being played by the same people
shareWhile I think it is a tribute to Peter Pan from what I understand is the official explanation is that the game projects the fears of the players onto the things that come out of the game, since Alan was afraid of his father the game made the hunter look like his father (so therefore he was played by Johnathan Hyde).
