Gets off to a bad start right from the opening crawl...


Lots of films start with an opening crawl or text, to explain the world we're about to see in brief. Other films use narration instead.

I think Judge Dredd is the only film I've seen where the opening text scrawl is also read by a narrator; James Earl Jones. They must have seriously thought this movie was intended for illiterate imbeciles who can't read. Or they needed Mr. Jones to make it sound more serious. It was just the first bad move in a series of bad moves we were about to witness...
