Who else saw this at the theatre?
I did.
shareHow was it seeing it on the big screen? I was too young, back in 95 I was stuck watching The Indian In the Cupboard. But Judge Dredd is an awesome film, and must have been quite a spectacle in the cinema.
shareMe too, it was freaky deaky.
shareYes, and I have a funny story about it. I would go to the movies, see one feature, then go to another one. That would lead to some VERY interesting double features!
In 1995, I went to see "Apollo 13" in the main auditorium. Great movie! (of course!) And then, yeah, I went to see "Judge Dredd!" It was in the smallest auditorium in the place. But, it did have a kicking sound system!
I thought it was truly goofy, and quite certain that the comics were not that way! But, I enjoyed Stallone, the film score, and the visual effects. So, definitely more of a guilty pleasure.
I used to do that for a while in the late 90s.. I d go to this town miles away and id have to stay there until the bus went back and that meant about 8-10 hours.. so 2 movies, a McDs and some shopping..
Copland and Tomorrow Never Dies was very memorable as both were awesome movies (much preferred TND to Goldeneye) also Starship Truckers with maybe The Relic.. Others included The Jackal/Devils Advocate, Con Air/Volcano, Absolute Power/Scream 2.. I'm pretty sure saw all those as part of my various 'big day out' ..but can't remember if they were the right combinations . I guess I could find out looking at the months they were released..
I didn't see Stallones Dredd at the cinema though.. kind of strange as its the type of movie id have gone to see and saw Cliffhanger and True Lies etc. maybe the reviews put me off.. (I also didn't get around to seeing Demolition Man at the cinema or The Specialist).. I made up for it by seeing Dredd 2012 though
Yeah, I started in the 80's. SO MANY bad movies, almost one after another, that I just HAD to attempt to get my money's worth somehow. :-)
The 80's is, by far, the main reason that I stopped going to movies much, if at all.
nahh i wish i did though.....
shareI think I did, yeah. Me and my Dad always saw action movies in theaters.
