Just saw this movie for the 1st time

I remember this movie coming out in the 90s, but I never saw it. I saw how alot of people bashed this movie and said it was horrible, so I finally wanted to see it for myself. I got a hold of the Extended version and watched it.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. I felt entertained through most of the movie. This is one of those movies that would actually be better now than back then (due to the pacing/writing issues). A director these days would clean up the film, give it a better pace and dialog. I still liked it though, hard to believe it only gets a 5 on here, when there is plenty of trash ranked ahead of it.

I will admit its a cheesy movie. But I also loved Judge Dredd, Demolition Man, and other movies like that. I am also a huge fan of Neuromancer, Blade Runner, Shadowrun, and other cyberpunk books/movies.

This would actually be a cool movie to get a re-make, as much as I hate those.

Watch it again, it gets better with each viewing like alot of the other films you listed.

I think that Johnny Mnemonic gets dissed more than it should too. Not sure if I've seen the extended version. Will have to check it out. Anyone know what the run time is on the exteded? The one Netflix has is 98 minutes.

And the juke box plays. Apocalyptic be-bop.

The Japanese cut runs 10 minutes longer than the US version. Here's a link to it....http://www.asylum00.com/j.htm

I agree except for the remake part.
I also liked Johnny M. much more than all the films you listed.
Great sci-fi cheese, oozes 90's, quite like Strange Days.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾
