V-A-S-T-L-Y Underappreciated

The story rocks!!
An early 21st century pharmco squats the cure to an info-overload disease called NAS.
Company do-gooders steal the cure, so the pharmco contracts the Yakuza to get it back.
The do-gooders try to disseminate the cure through a distant, like-minded org.
They use the safest method of digital transferance possible: a wetware courier.
Will the courier make the delivery before the Yakuza grabs it back ...?

Like I say, great story! OK, maybe not told in the best possible way, but a great story nonetheless.
Deserves a SciFi channel remake at the very least, I think.

The screen play was written by William Gibson, a sci-fi genius , and the father of the term cyberspace, and author of neuromancer. It's been said, that the studio TriStar took the movie away from the director when it was done, and made drastic cuts and re-edit it so much it was a different film when they were done or the story would have been much more better.

There is an interesting story but the finished product was rather undercooked.

Its that man again!!

Most certainly a very underrated flick.
If you enjoyed this, I would suggest Strange Days, which is similar in many ways but darker, less cheesy, and even better.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

I agree with you. I first watched it when it came out and I was Young and I didn't understand much of it really, so I just thought it was a bad movie. Now like 20 years later I watch it again and I thought it was good, just weird music and sometimes weird acting, but good story. I wish they'd do a re-make with Keanu Reeves. I think now people would understand it and would actually relate to how technology is all around us.

We're in agreement. The story itself is above average, and although the movie may have its flaws, I think it has more to offer than many say (count one, two or three good performances in there... he he). In short, this is a fairly interesting and fun movie with nice cyberpunk atmosphere... in my eyes.
