Sam Neill's delivery of the line was very funny, and he gave a great performance throughout the film. I've always thought that Neill was one of most underappreciated actors - he always does a good job even in mediocre movies.

Unfortunately, John Carpenter cast him opposite a lead actress who couldn't act her way out of a wet paper bag.

The line isn't that funny, but I always find Neill's delivery of it hilarious. :D
