Bad Movie Quest

I'm on a quest for bad movies (rewatchable -laughing-when-you-aren't-supposed-to, then spread it like a disease type stuff). Familiar with all the MST stuff. Yawn. Is this movie up my alley?
I actually haven't seen Ice Cream Man; my video store doesn't have it, so I'm waiting to get it cheap on E-Bay.
I recommend Troll 2 personally. It's the worst/"best?" Please give me some titles I might not have heard of.

reply

For me, Ice Cream Man was bad, but it was a "good bad". I watched it a lot in 1999 in the summer and whenever I wanted to get the feeling of nostolgia for the summer, let's say in the fall season, all I'd have to do is watch this movie. It's quite bad, but it's entertaining. One of my favorite "so bad it's good" movies.

reply

I enjoyed ice cream man for what it is, and I would not even say that it is a bad movie. It tries to be funny and does not take itself seriously- when it is 'bad', it is intentionally so. The best movie you can possibly watch for 'so bad it's good' is a horror movie with Dan Haggerty called 'Elves'. It is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Also, try "Jacko".

reply

Ice Cream Man was pretty horrible I'd say it's on a par with something like Soulkeeper in that I don't think it takes itself entirely too seriously. If you want some really bad stuff try "Night of the Lepus" if you can find it also "S.I.C.K." (Serial Insane Clown Killer) that title should tell you all you need to know about that one. Absolutey hysterical.

Yes it's bad, but in a good way. I liked the mystery aspect and the non-stop character dissing.

Cool.

These are some of the obscenely bad movies I've had the distinct misfortune of viewing:

- Vampires vs. Zombies: A Lesbian Love Affair
- Troll (1 and 2)
- House of the Dead
- SuperBabies: Baby Geniuses 2
- Gigli
- 2001: A Space Travesty
- Feardotcom

There're many, many, many more, but those are most notable at this time.

You might also want to see...

-Monster in the Closet (it's a Troma film; enough said)
-Ghoulies (Gremlins rip-off)
-Night of the Comet (I actually like this movie...)
-Street Trash (see it for the "football" scence...)
-Neon Maniacs (more plot holes than a hobo's sweater, but the movies still entertaining)
-Killer Klowns From Outer Space (the greatest B-movie ever!)

Ice Cream Man is one of my favorite 'bad' movies; see it, I bettcha you won't be dissapointed.

How dare you! American Gothic rules and is not a bad film. Not terrible any way. Its certainly not bad in the same way Troma films are!

reply

I made the movie drive in with my camra in my basement. Good lord, I didn't think anyone else saw that.

reply

american gothic was a lovely liitle film. it is not one of those "so bad it's good" movies.... it's just pure goodness

reply

Klowns is genius and I love Night of the Comet is great too.

reply

Try "Christina's House"--it is extremely bad. But hilarious.

Don't try "I, Zombie"--it isn't even funny. It's just terrible.

reply

Do not spend money on this movie, I am a fan of Bad movies but this turd is un watchable.

reply

Some others are:

- Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter

- Redneck Zombies

- Clownhouse

- Return of the Living Dead series

- Campfire Stories

And pretty much any of the Troma films.

reply

Besides the other posters movies, also try these goodies:

- "Abraxas, Guardian of the Universe" (starring Jesse Ventura and Sven-Ole Thorsen as renegade spacecops battling it out on earth for unknown reasons)

- "Mafia vs. Ninja" (great cheap hong kong martial arts-flick starring Alexander Lou, anything he touches turns into pure gold. Also check out "The Super Ninja")

- "Leprechaun in da Hood" (Warwick Davis goes crazy in the ghetto, weird stuff)

- "War Dog" (Swedish action-movie with unknown 'stars', pretty funny)

- And just about anything 'director' Uwe Boll has touched. (And some of Albert Pyun's worst movies too, like "Urban Menace")

Any Troma Movies will do, preferrably:

The Toxic Avenger
Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV
Terror Firmer
Tromeo And Juliet
Redneck Zombies
Class of Nuke Em High
Beware! Children At Play
Killer Nerd

Also, Check out some of Full Moon's early 90's stuff:
Demonic Toys
The Puppet Master series
Dollman
Arcade
Bad Channels

And for New Full Moon the Gingerdead Man is a must.

And some others to look for:
Ax Em
Bad Taste
Chopping Mall
Dead Alive
The Dentist
Jack Frost
Uncle Sam
Killer Klowns From Outer Space
Monsturd
Nail Gun Massacre
Santa Claus Conquers The Martians

Well, there is a movie called Class of 1999, haven't seen it, but I've heard it's pretty cheesy, it's a mix of ripoffs of The Terminator, Escape From New York, and a little bit of The Road Warrior. It's a sequel of sorts to a less cheesy and more serious and prophetic film called Class Of 1984. You should check them both out, especially if you're into cyberpunk-future movies.

"We are the Time Haters, and we've traveled through time... to call you a CRACKER!!!!!"

Any of Steven Seagal's straight to DVD movies
Piranhas 2 is a good one
One of my all time favorites is Future Hunters,if you can find it you won't be disapointed
I just saw a movie called Satanic
But the two best are defitinly Troll 2 and Shark attack 3

I'd say check out "Bloody Murder 1 & 2" or slumber party massacre, and also a bad/good horror film is "Prison Of The Dead"

I'll second two of the classics in heavy rotation at my place:

Ice Cream Man - "You're ice cream"
Class of 1999 - "The best defense is a tuff offense"

Also check out (some horror some not, but all bad in a good way):

Fright Night - "Nice to meet you Charlie, See you... soon"
Reanimator - "How dare you judge my work"
Angel Town - "I don't care about the frickchin' old lady, I want Marteen"
Falling Down - "Guarenteed not to hurt a chipmunk if you step on it"
Critters - no quote comes to mind

This movie will always have a special place in my heart even though it's patently terrible. One of my friends and I watched it one night in high school, when we purposely rented some horror movies we thought would be bad, so that we could laugh at them. In addition to Ice Cream Man, we watched Cemetery High (unquestionably the worst movie ever made. Much worse than Ice Cream Man.), Tales From the Crypt: Bordello of Blood (it's bad, but I liked it. Corey Feldman, vampires, and lots of nudity. What else are you gonna do on a Friday night?), and Slugs (surprisingly good. Well, maybe "good" isn't the right word. Surprisingly not terrible.)

But the true reason I will always love Ice Cream Man is because it has one of my favorite movie lines of all time. It's been several years since I've seen it, so I may have some of the details wrong, but it's near the end of the movie and all the little kids are ganging up on Clint Howard, and the one kid (I think it was Small Paul) looks at him and goes, "Who's the Pied Piper now, Ice Cream Dick?" It makes me laugh every time I think about it.
